Help with Childcare Costs
There are a number of schemes and assistance available to help with the cost of childcare. These include:
Tax Credits
If you work and pay for childcare you may be able to get tax credits to help with the cost. For further information please visit www.direct.gov.uk
Voucher Schemes
We work in partnership with several childcare voucher schemes, whereby savings can be made on childcare costs by paying for your childcare in vouchers through your employer. Childcare vouchers are a great way for employers to give working parents help with dependent children as you do not pay tax or National Insurance on them.
Grant Assistance for 3 and 4 Year Olds
Providing your child does not attend a state nursery, you are eligible for grant assistance from the Local Education Authority for the term after your child’s third birthday. Grants are given for up to a maximum of 5 half-day sessions and are awarded until the end of June. The grant only pays for a proportion of your child’s fees, and therefore you must pay the balance yourself. Please note, however, that for the months of July and August no grant is awarded and full fees are payable.
